Sasaki Senkichi (佐々木千吉)
Senkichi SASAKI (born on December 18, 1930 to now) is a kyogen performer of Okura-ryu (the Shigeyama family, Kyoto) (Okura school). He is the general holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property. He is an adopted son-in-law of Sensaku SHIGEYAMA, the third. His real name is Akira SHIBATA.
Since he graduated from Ritsumeikan University, he has been practicing kyogen performing while he was working for a bank. He has been studying kyogen under Sensaku SHIGEYAMA since 1954. In the same year (1954) he made a debut.
In 1999, he was certified as the general holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property.
